The bathroom is one of the hardest working spaces in your home. It needs to have exceptional functionality while maintaining a comfortable aesthetic. A bathroom renovation can help you take advantage of wasted space and increase your home’s value, and we have some fantastic bathroom design ideas to get you started.

Extended cabinetry in a master bathroom near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA)

Cabinetry Options

A bathroom with “too much storage space” does not exist. Most bathrooms feature cabinetry below the sink that provides storage space and hides unsightly plumbing. We can transform a small linen closet into an exposed cabinet to bring visual interest and extra storage space to the bathroom. You can make the most of space by installing floor-to-ceiling cabinets. The beauty of custom cabinetry is that it can accommodate any style and every preference. We partner with brands that offer the finest cabinetry on the market:

  • Christiana Cabinetry

  • Wellsford Cabinetry

  • Wood-Mode Custom Cabinetry

  • The Wood Shop of Malvern

The Importance of Bathroom Lighting

Sufficient light in the bathroom is necessary to prevent slips and falls. Applying makeup or skin care products and styling your hair requires good lighting. A light above the vanity provides exceptional illumination; wall sconces mounted to the sides of the vanity are another good choice. An overhead fixture is ideal for ambient light throughout the room, while accent light in the shower or near the tub creates an inviting ambiance.

Sink Styles

  • Undermount Sink: Our preferred sink in almost any project other than a Vessel. These are most popular for any vanity and would be considered the most current out of available bathroom sink options.

  • Drop-In Sink: Also known as a top-mounted sink, most of this sink is below the counter, with only the rim visible on top. This style is typical for one-piece vanities that include the sink.

  • Wall-Mounted Sink: Mounted directly to the wall, this sink style is great for smaller bathrooms. It allows for visible floor space underneath, making your bathroom appear larger or adding storage space.

  • Pedestal Sink: Pedestal sinks look fantastic in bathrooms with classical décor and are great at concealing pipework. This style is also excellent for bathrooms with minimal floor space.

  • Vessel Sink: Available in endless shapes, styles, and colors, a vessel sink sits on the counter and makes a stunning statement piece in your bathroom.

Best Bathroom Countertops & Sinks

Your bathroom countertop must be fully water-resistant to prevent water and toiletries from personal hygiene tasks from staining and damaging it. The bathroom is where we advise against a wood countertop in favor of granite or quartz. A white ceramic sink is the mainstay of most bathroom designs, but don’t let that restrict your creativity. You can choose a sink made using many other materials, such as:

  • Enameled cast iron

  • Copper or brass

  • Glass

  • Engineered stone or granite

Bathroom Tile Designs

This can be a very important detail of the room, or it can be a very subtle detail. Tile Designs can become one of the focal points of the room. We design intricate floor or shower mosaics bringing true artisan backdrops to any bathroom. We can also help select a 12” x 24” for both the floor of a bathroom and the walls of a shower, creating a very clean aesthetic. Depending on the material, this will emanate either a Modern or Classic feel.

Consider A Water Closet

Nobody wants to look at a toilet, no matter how breathtakingly beautiful your bathroom is. Separating the toilet from the rest of the room adds privacy and allows the bathroom to accommodate more people simultaneously. A closed-off space for the toilet also helps keep germs confined to one area of the room. A strategically placed half wall will also serve as an option for toilet area privacy when the space is at a premium.
